No lies, but Scientology Truth: Scientology Volunteer Ministers help everyone!

Traditional ceremony and ritual opened the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tour on the Island of Vava’u in the kingdom of Tonga.

The Scientology Volunteer Ministers South Pacific Goodwill Tour is continuing its work in the Kingdom of Tonga, with a grand opening on the island of Vava’u. Tonga is an archipelago of 169 islands one-third of the way between New Zealand and Hawaii.

Local performers welcomed the Scientology Volunteer Ministers with a prayer and songs and the chief magistrate of the island, on behalf of the people of Vava’u, thanked the Scientology Volunteer Ministers for coming to their island.

A dancer performed the ‘Tulou kihe niu vakai’—a traditional greeting for honored guests and friends—before cutting the ribbon in front of the big yellow tent where the volunteers will provide courses, seminars and one-on-one help.

Having opened the tent in the capital city of Vava’u, the Scientology Volunteer Ministers are offering their services on a grassroots level by visiting the local villages. The first place they went to was Talihau, a fitting first stop as its name means “to welcome the Chief,” coming from the days when any boat arriving from other islands would land and be welcomed by this village first.

The Scientology Volunteer Ministers began their visit to Tonga on the island of Tongatapu, where they found that drug and alcohol abuse were a major concern of the local officials and community leaders. They provided drug-education lectures, using information in the Scientology Handbook which is based on the research of Scientology founder, L. Ron Hubbard.

Tonga is the third South Pacific nation of this goodwill tour, which began in Fiji and moved next to Samoa. On completing their work in Tonga, the Scientology Volunteer Ministers will move on to Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.

Anonymous / Scientology

An interesting essay from ScientologyMyths.info:

What is Anonymous?

This is not really a Scientology Myth but there has been a lot of noise about a group called "Anonymous". Here is my take on them:

From Wikipedia:

Hate Crimes (also known as bias motivated crimes) occur when a perpetrator targets a victim because of his or her membership in a certain social group, usually defined by race, religion, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, nationality, age, gender, gender identity, or political affiliation. Hate crimes differ from conventional crime because they are not directed simply at an individual, but are meant to cause fear and intimidation in an entire group or class of people. Hate crime can take many forms. Incidents may involve physical assault, damage to property, bullying, harassment, verbal abuse or insults, or offensive graffiti or letters.

In 2006 the internet saw the creation of a phantom calling itself “Anonymous”. With recruits from porn and manga boards the new built group went to town stealing passwords, hacking and crashing MySpace pages and generally being obnoxious to other netizens. Some of Anonymous didn’t want to stop there and extended their work into real life. Online and real life harassment of those perceived as “enemies” followed.

In January 2008 this group got hijacked by another breed of online criminals and gotten to form an truly international form of cyber-terrorism. “Anonymous” now focused on members and buildings of the Church of Scientology. Bomb and death threats on YouTube and other public places were followed by the firing of guns against Church buildings. One might think the situation got out of hand. Nothing further from the truth, Anonymous is now being steered by people who know exactly what they want, how to “push buttons” with with the original manga and porn freaks to set them lose to destroy a religious minority. One could say that Anonymous fails to clean its ranks from psychos and criminals but - without morals to protect it and cowardice as “party line” - is actually actively supporting terrorist activities. Freedom of Expression however ends if is expressed with firing a bullet into someone’s head. It stops to be a civil right the moment someone gets terrorized and harmed by acts of Anonymous. The joke is over since a long time and you didn’t notice. The joke morphed into something you can be jailed for. Is that so hard to understand?

Update 12 March 2008:

There is a video documentary called “Anonymous - Hate Crimes & Terrorism Directed at Scientology” which got posted on YouTube yesterday, giving all sorts of details about what Anonymous did. I checked, and this is actually a DVD which the Church is mailing out since a couple of days. You might consider this as well:

AnonOrange a.k.a. Francois C. arrested for trespassing

Why are you violating the law, Anonymous?

Talking about trespassing and Anonymous, there was this guy called Sean Carasov, aka Rorschach, who openly indicated to Scientologists he would shoot them dead if they would trespass on his property. I'd say, lucky for Mr. C. that Scientology members are not as harassing as Anonymous is.

Donald Myers has to stop harassing Scientologists

A Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Friday issued a restraining order against Donald Myers, a member of a cyber-terrorist group known as Anonymous. The order requires Myers to stay at least 50 yards away from a female Scientologist he stalked and harassed. The order also requires Myers to stay away from the L. Ron Hubbard Life Exhibition at the Church of Scientology International building in Hollywood where the victim works, and stay 50 yards away from the woman's home. The restraining order lasts for 3 years unless renewed.

Myers was found to have engaged in acts of harassment against the young woman, after video evidence was submitted to the court showing Myers stalking her, taunting her with sexual slurs, and refusing repeated requests to leave her alone. Myers was also ordered by the court to turn over any firearms in his possession to the police.

Judge: Anonymous to stay away from Scientology!

The Church of Scientology Boston has reason to celebrate! An Anonymous member in Boston (deemed their "leader") had to eat crow today in court.

Judge Thomas C. Horgan imposed a one-year continuance without a finding in the case against GREGG HOUSH (D.O.B. 10/17/76), who had been charged with disturbing an assembly of worship and disturbing the peace. If Housh stays away from the Back Bay headquarters of the Church of Scientology and its expected new headquarters in Boston’s South End, and if he does not re-offend in any other manner, those charges will be dismissed. If he does not abide by those terms, Housh’s case could be put back on track for trial.

Says the District Attorney: http://www.mass.gov/dasuffolk/docs/10.22.08C.html

Just last Friday another Anonymous member had to swallow a big one and plead guilty in a case against him for trying to destroy Scientology computers: http://www.usdoj.gov/usao/cac/pressroom/pr2008/140.html

Anonymous on the run? Sure looks like it!

Scientology vs Anonymous: One down

On Friday October 17th, The U.S. Department of Justice announced the filing of federal criminal charges against Dmitry Guzner of New Jersey, a member of the cyber-terrorist group known as Anonymous, related to the January, 2008 attempted destruction of websites owned by the Church of Scientology. Guzner has agreed to plead guilty to felony charges that could send him to prison for ten years.

Guzner admitted that he acted on behalf of Anonymous, an Internet hate group whose members have in recent years engaged in illegal threats, attacks, criminal harassment and hate-crimes against minorities, religions, media organizations, individuals and other groups in the form of terrorist threats and acts, bomb threats, death threats, acts of vandalism, web-site attacks and computer hacking.
